Global Space & Satellite Forum 2011
9th – 11th May 2011
The largest and most impressive gathering of industry influencers ever assembled in the region – only at GSS Forum 2011
Drawing on one of the fastest growing satellite communications markets globally, the Middle East region is making significant investments in space technology and positioning itself as a future leader in the global space industry.
A supporting exhibition will take place alongside the conference giving global providers of space and satellite technologies a platform to meet and engage this market. This is your opportunity to promote yourself to key influencers and senior representatives from regional space agencies and satellite programmes, government officials, policy makers, investors and scientists, aviation and aerospace professionals.
Exhibitors are offered cost-effective display and networking options, designed to help you tap into new business opportunities and reinforce existing relationships with decision makers in the region’s space and satellite industries
The Opportunity
The global “Space Economy” is worth about US$250 billion today and is expected to cross the US$1 trillion mark within the next 10 years. In line with this explosive global growth, regional governments are also making significant investments in space and satellite related technologies, with the UAE positioning itself as a leader amongst emerging regional space economies.
Nearly 200 new satellites worth some US$22 billion are expected to be launched through 2017. This growth is fuelled by the private sector and emerging space programs from regions like the Middle East, North Africa, Far East and the Indian sub-continent. Of these, 52 Earth Observation satellites will be launched by emerging government space programs in the coming ten years, a five-fold increase compared to the last decade.
Studies have also shown that the MENA’s commercial satellite-lease revenues have been growing 17% annually since 2003, indicating a remarkable growth potential. As one of the fastest developing space markets, the Middle East will see at least 19 new satellites launched
